Paid Time Off (PTO) can be used for any reason such as holidays most important to you, family time, or personal needs.

  • The longer you work for Walmart, the more PTO you can earn.
  • Use the Me@ app or GTA Portal to request time off and have it approved.
  • If you don’t have enough PTO to cover your time off request, GTA will automatically use your PPTO.

PPTO can be used for any reason, including for planned or unplanned absences. Protected PTO is available to Store, Club, and Supply Chain associates, plus other locations where required by law.

  • PPTO provides absence protection, which means the absence will be excused and will not result in any occurrences or disciplinary action on your attendance record.
  • Use the Me@ app or GTA Portal to request to use PPTO.
  • If you don’t have enough PPTO to cover your time off request, GTA will automatically use your PTO.

You may view your available PTO and Protected PTO balances at any time in the Global Time & Attendance Portal (GTAP), along with a history of how much you have earned and used since the last pay period. GTAP updates the balance in real time as paid time off requests are approved.

Your paystub will show pay received from paid time off used during that pay period and the remaining balances available for use as of the end of that pay period. The paystub will also display the amount of Protected PTO used during the calendar year.

Paid Time Off (PTO) can be used for any reason such as holidays most important to you, family time, or personal needs.

On the first day of the plan year, (February 1st), you have a certain number of PTO days available for use.

  • The number is the total amount of the associates’ annual PTO based on the associate’s tenure during the plan year, the weekly work schedule (five (5), four (4), or three (3) days a week) and any days carried over from the previous plan year.
  • Unused PTO from the previous plan year may affect how much PTO the associates receive for the new plan year.

If you are in your first year, the initial amount of PTO days is prorated based on the month of hire.

You have FlexTO, which have no minimums, maximums, or set balances of time off available during the plan year.

Whenever a you use FlexTO, it is recommended to discuss time off in advance with leadership and to track time off usage in GTA. Salaried associates in certain locations are required to track their PTO usage.

You will receive annual PTO in days based on the years of service celebrated during the plan year and weekly work schedule (five (5), four (4), or three (3) days a week).

You receive PTO based on biweekly hours (also known as base hours) in hours.

You will receive 80 hours of PTO as a new hire.

  • At the beginning of each plan year, the PTO balance is topped up to 80 hours if the unused PTO balance carried over from the previous plan year is less than 80 hours.
  • PTO can be earned based on service hours and PTO is used.
  • The longer you work for Walmart and Sam’s Club, the higher the accrual rate and the faster they will earn paid time off

You earn PTO based on service hours logged, including on-duty hours (driving and not driving), benefit hours, and paid time off used.

The longer you work for Walmart and Sam’s Club, the higher the accrual rate and the faster you will earn paid time off. The total amount of paid time off you can earn depends on your job status (full-time or part-time) and may vary by location.
