Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How do I participate?
To participate, your team needs to select a theme, describe the problem being addressed and present a unique tech-driven solution. You must create a two-minute video demonstrating your solution, upload it to YouTube (ensure it is unlisted) between June 5 and July 14, 2025 and add it to your submission form.
Can I apply as a part of more than one team?
You can apply for only one idea and as part of one team comprising two to four members.
Can I submit multiple ideas?
While it is good to have multiple ideas, you can only work on one idea for this event.
Can I edit my submission after registering?
No, once you have submitted your registration, edits are not allowed. Applications are open until July 14th, so please take your time to ensure all details, links, and your solution are accurate and final before submitting.
I have submitted my idea, what are the next steps?
The jury members will review the submitted solution. Shortlisted teams will be invited to present their solutions or prototypes in the second round.
How does Walmart choose the winners for the challenge?
Winners will be chosen based on the following criteria:
- Innovation, creativity and scalability of the solution
- Technical feasibility of the solution
- Impact and benefit to Walmart
- Quality of proof of concept and demo
When is the application deadline?
The last day to apply is July 14, 2025.
When can I expect to hear back after the application process?
Notification dates for the application process are as stated below:
Finalists announcement: July 29, 2025
Winners announcement: August 29, 2025
I am selected for phase two, will I be required to do an in-person presentation in the second round?
In the second round, your presentation to the Grand Jury will be done virtually. The winners of this round will be invited to Converge to present and receive the award in person. More details will be shared with the finalists closer to the date.
If I win the challenge, will I get an internship/job offer to work with Walmart?
Winning teams can interview for internships or full-time roles with Walmart Global Tech in India. This is subject to meeting our hiring criteria.
What is the prize money for the competition?
Winning team stand a chance to receive cash prizes upto INR 2,90,000. First runner-up can win upto INR 232,800 and second runner-up can win upto INR 174,400 (subject to tax deduction).
Will I get a certificate?
All participating teams with valid submissions will receive certificates.
